Knowing our local seafood for the unpredictable quality, JB actually serves better seafood and spending less of your money if you are willing to travel across the causeway to hunt for it. One of them would be this Tian Lai Seafood Restaurant, located at Gelang Patah, along Jalan Ulu Choh.

 –

It’s a family operated restaurant so don’t be surprised if the helpers sit down there to idle. They ARE the family members.

The soya sauce in red and green chilli padi.

 –

And the drinks. Liang Teh, Kopi and Teh.

 –

And here comes the food. You know what? Their dishes are so flavoured that you would just want to eat on and on. The black peppered crabs are my favourite. It’s the kind of sauce that’s not so thin which you can’t really find in Singapore. Quite fresh and yummy. Enjoy the pics.

And all of those comes to only RM 101. Now would you go there for a try? Enjoy =)

I have a love-hate relationship with mobile phones, which some of you call them handphones, or H/P in short. I don’t know if some of you have known that when I’m doing nothing outside, my eyes will always be set on my either handset (I’ve two lines for different purposes by the way).

I admit I’m a very gadgety person. I’m known to be one of the friend of other people that brings out the most number of gadgets out in a small bag. And two or three of them, would be my HTC Desire, HTC Dream and HTC Snap, which I use it as a wireless modem for my netbook. I would want to say I’m NOT a HTC fanboy, it just happen that the 3 phones I purchased in 2008, 2009 and 2010, were HTC-branded, coincidentally. (I was a Nokia person few years back.)

I used Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung, LG, HTC, Apple and Siemens(Does the brand sounds a bell? It’s LONG GONE in Singapore market) before. My first phone was a Nokia 6110, in 1999. It used to be my Mum’s phone and eventually became mine (Muahahaa) and all day I did on the phone, was to play Snake. Partially because I had no one to call or SMS to. The phone still works now anyway, but the battery…well, no comments.

And I fell in love with mobile technology. I became pretty impulsive when making decision on mobile phones purchase during mobile plans re-contract, and ended up being disappointed with what I got for myself. It’s been better over these few years, grown up and having proper decision making process over these kind of gadgets purchase. Disappointment still exists anyway. Heh.

And because I love handphones, I switched from brand to brand to find out which brand is actually better. Selling off one and using extra pocket money to spend on new handset (now it’s a deep sin) last time was a nightmare for my parents. I admitted to hiding the fact that I SIGNED a new plan when I was in secondary school to obtain a new handphone.

I love the fact that handphones let me have the convenience to contact anyone, from anywhere, and at any time of the day. I also hate the fact that people know I’m always contactable no matter where I am and sometimes I just simply cannot do the things I want because I would just pick up the call or reply SMS instantly.

I hate the fact that some people know mobile phones are for mobile usage and I only receive replies from them after waiting…for a long time. I chose to call the set of people who have this kind of habit who chose to ‘ignore’ my sms-es, and only reply when they feel like it, instead of sending a text to them.

I also hate the fact that after all these years of R&D, the battery life of mobile phones still, sucks. As a consumer, I’m quite disappointed the capacity of the battery still remain at 1500mAh after so many years at the maximum. I bought extra batteries instead. Yes, I’m talking about smartphones. So lousy till the extend I bought another portable charger 2 years back.

Relying on mobile technology is so bad. Very bad I must admit. I’m an early adapter of mobile broadband service here in Singapore. After adapting to this service, I’m online wherever I go. People quoted me as a 24/7 online person, as if I’m always by the screen and not leaving the eyes set on the screen ever before. That’s not entirely true. I’m NOT a geek, I got better things to do. I’m just online for your convenience so you guys can contact me easily. But I’m seriously addicted and over relying on mobile broadband. I tweet, facebook and reply to emails and I don’t feel right when no mobile device is near the reach of mine.

I don’t have any special liking to any mobile operating system ever invented. Neither am I a fanboy of any OS, say for example, iOS, Android, Symbian or WinMo. Never was, or is there  is a phone with the respective operating system perfect. The Droids are not perfect, neither are the fruity iPhone, be it 3GS or 4G. They have their own strengths and also, weaknesses. Since yesterday, I have deleted both hardcore Android and Apple fanboys from my Facebook contact list. Goodbye, I hate seeing comments from you guys stating iPhone OS or Android OS is the most powerful, number one in the whole wide world. Enough said. Ok? I use the operating system to which I’m more suited for and thinks it can do better for me.

At last, there is a brand I’ve never tried before and it would be the RIM’s Blackberry. I’m so tempted to switch to BB Bold. Would that be a smart choice? I do messaging alot though. but Blackberry and its service is expensive. Till BB OS6 comes about then, saving for the better.

Cannot anyhow spend money ok. Gotta save for the future.

This is an important advice from someone who splurged on gadgets and mobile phones and once broke to even eat only instant noodles before – Kids out there, don’t spend too much on gadgets and mobile phones, you will regret (unless you’re rich and that’s a different story).
