“Dear Mr Tan

Thank you for your e-mail of 5 April 2010.

We note your request and we to inform you that our Sunriser’s $500
handset re-contract voucher are only applicable for the re-contract of
the Sunriser’s mobile line.

While we realised that in these instances, our policies for Sunrisers
Programme has fallen short of your expectations. We seek your
understanding in this matter.”

But, your site got say die die must commit to a new 2 year contract of the same line meh? No what!

I’ve long completed my 2 year contract with M1 but I’m stuck with M1 still. (You know, the golden number thingy?)
And it’s near time to choose my phone for recontract. (or else lugi you see)

So I looked into M1′s website and was overjoyed that one of the phone I really wanted is on their ‘Upcoming Phones’ list.

It’s the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10! The pros of this phone is of course, the large 4″ touchscreen with 1GHz Snapdragon, 3.5mm earphone jack and Sony customised interface on top of Android 1.6 (Can upgrade to 2.1 Eclair or not?) the price with contract will be about $799 (based on the non contract price of near $1.1k) OMG It’s so expensive, shall start to save already. But the cons of it is that, it doesn’t have a hardware keyboard lah.

Above photo and below photos are from the respective brands media and press libraries.

Also on my list is the Motorola Milestone, slated to be released also this month from a certain telco (I heard only Starhub is getting it). The processor is only 600MHz but it comes in a sleek outfit with a thin body, which includes a QWERTY keyboard and a 3.7″ touchscreen. Estimated price would be $599 with contract based on the pricing of $800+ in the market right now.

Milestone_Front_OpenNext on my list is the HTC Desire, which I’m not sure when it will be released though (Should be April or May). Sporting the exact same specification as the Google Nexus One, the only difference is the track ball, which has been replced by an optical trackpad (Ooo la la), with the other specs like 3.7″ touchscreen, 1Ghz Snapdragon and most of all, HTC Sense interface is included. Pricing not known yet but should be on par with the Google Nexus One.

DesireAlso on my list is the HTC HD2. Sporting a 4.3″ touchscreen and HTC Sense in Windows mobile 6.5, it has the largest screen of Windows mobile phones to date. Price of it is going down and down, and people have been experimenting with booting to Android, I may just get that because of this. =x

Download_01_HTC_HD2Last of all, this is the phone with the least likely to be acquired by me. The Nokia N900. It has a good specs, and I’ve used Maemo before on my N810. Just that, news has it that, telco won’t be able to bundle the phone with their plans just as yet, according to some forumers, who sent emails to Nokia Singapore. Using the same processor as iPhone 3GS, it has a whooping 32GB of storage and may just be able to boot Android and Ubuntu too. The price, $1 less than a grand.

With so many phones to choose from, I really need to analyse which is better because it’s gonna accompany me for 2 years. (My current Sony Ericsson W950i has been serving me well for 2.5 years already).

So which are the phones you are looking into when you can recontract soon? =)

I experienced no problem on your advanced data network. I achieved near 3.8mbps outdoors, but this is the kuku speed you’re giving me in my house, no matter if I place it near window or outside window.

Abit more than the good old 56kbps modem but.. for goodness sake the plan I’m on is 4mbps, 0.07mbps is not something I should get hor?

Even my starhub connection can get to 1.8mbps in my house leh!
