Having eating pasta for years, neither did I try before pasta that’s being cooked or wrapped in paper until today when I was at the bloggers pasta tasting session at Suntec City, held in conjunction with Nuffnang, by Pizza Hut.

Two new flavourings has been introduced by Pizza Hut and they are the Char-grilled Chicken Parchment (Parchment actually means paper la hor?) and Spicy Seafood Parchment. Pizza Hut is known for pizzas duh, but have you tried their pastas? Some of the bloggers I talked to this evening mentioned when they come to Pizza Hut, they only have pizzas.

Now I’m gonna be truthful here, I prefer the Spicy Seafood Parchment to the Char-grilled Chicken one. I’ll tell you why in a moment.

 –
 –

Pasta wrapped in paper, as seen above.

When the pasta is served to the first table, I kept wondering what is that you know. Don’t know what they wrapped inside only to find out ah, it’s the new pasta they’re offering in the menu.

 –

It’s the creamy type of pasta which either gets you sick of it or love it. Pizza Hut does the sickening part away with bacons inside the pasta filled with char-grilled chicken and garlic. It was creamy and good, but a little bit more bits of the bacon would be better to enhance the taste.

Next up we have the Spicy Seafood one.

I fail to agree that it is spicy simply because I can tahan the spicyness (and go to the loo the next day every 10 minutes). This is my own preference cuz’ there are other bloggers around me who think it’s too spicy. Anyway, I love the prawns in it, QQ and fresh. Also served with mussels and squids in the tomato-based sauce, it’s for those who love seafood but feel like eating pasta in Pizza Hut.

I must say it’s a very interesting concept of wrapping pasta in paper cuz I’ve never seen it before in Singapore. I’m also surprised by their press kit which came wrapped in that paper also. Very creative. For what I think, hot or ice tea would be matching the pasta they’re offering in the new menu. I proposed to the marketing team that they should add in more spicyness to the Spicy Seafood one though. More more!

The two new pasta offerings will be available island wide today, when Pizza Hut opens its door and will be priced at $11.90 for the Char-grilled Chicken edition and $12.90 for the Spicy Seafood Parchment. Press release after the break.

So I was at Suntec this evening and I bypassed the ex-Gelare outlet which after then became AC Cafe and found out, it’s closed down AGAIN for a renovation to become…
IMG_7634 Yea! Back to Gelare! Something must be wrong with the style of management of AC Cafe. Frankly, people wanna go there to have some waffles and found out it’s not Gelare anymore, who will patronise you?

Similarly over at Plaza Singapura, the customers count was not as great as how Gelare had in the past. Perhaps it’s in this state now also? AHAHAHA.

Location:  Suntec City Convention Centre
Halls Taken: 3 Halls by Food Fair and WHOLE of Level 4 and 6 by IT SHOW.
Crowd and Control: Still ok leh, by Food Fair, and SIBEI JIA LAT, by IT SHOW despite more halls than Food Fair.
Organiser? …It’s the same. Some company named after the Eastern.

Compare the crowd! Left being the Food Fair, Right being IT SHOW

Crowd situation is not as bad...

SIBEI JIA LAT Crowd. Even have to stop escalator.

SIBEI JIA LAT Crowd. Even have to stop escalator.

Walao it’s super jia lat for IT Show. People just kept coming in and in to SPEND money. Tell me, where is recession. The people ought to think man! I didn’t spend a single cent there =X

Food Fair is being reasonably fluent in the crowd. Before bringing you how spacious Food Fair is, let’s head on first to see how pathetic the crowd and control is at the IT Show…

You’d never seen this kind of crowd in Singapore ever before. Perhaps it’s the addition to the new immigrants – er. FT I mean, or you may have your own way of describing them, like… ah tiongs and ABNN, whichever you may wanna call them.

JIA LAT Crowd 1

JIA LAT Crowd 1

And perhaps the crowd is due to alot of parents bringing their infants in PRAMS, causing natural crowd because prams do take up alot of space. Some even carry their infant and still keep their prams laying on the ground! P.s: You can just keep your prams in your car!

Notice of telling consumers to come again in 1 hour's time, without telling them after an hour, it will still be as jiak lat.

And perhaps is because many got their GST credits in early March and wanted to spend it because they knew the second installment of $200 will be in after the NEXT PC SHOW.

Crowd released to go up!

Crowd released to go up!

Go Go Go!

Go Go Go!

Chiong ah! Later $1 stuffs no more already!

Chiong ah! Later $1 stuffs no more already!

Simply OMG…

Well, who knew the situation will be worst than the last held in Suntec. And a bad news after this bad situation, the next two shows will be held here at Suntec, too!

Welllll, again. The last show of the year will be held in EXPO.

EXPO is a good place, at least some people from the west will be lazy to come down to the eastern side to see and even buy IT related stuffs. =x

Why held in Suntec? Well I think the company has some sort of mass reserving of Suntec as their premiere locations for holding events and exhibits! Good for them but horror for consumers like us.

So enough of the crap show, let’s head on to the delicious and ever-not-changing food fair, which is held almost ever 2-3 months, with flavours you will never get tired of, but will still patronize because you know…they’re there.

Spacious than before

Spacious than before

Super specious than before, the fair sports more tables. ALOT ALOT. But sadly, this isn’t the situation where you can still find some seats, er..the pic is taken in the early noon by the way. So you can imagine the evening crowd =O

Not as crowded as..ahem! IT show

Not as crowded as..ahem! IT show

Satay! The usuals are there

Satay! The usuals are there

I think less younger peeps don’t like going to such oily exhibits where they can get dirtied by the food stains. Instead, I see alot of aunties and ah mas!

ME and my fried rice

ME and my fried rice

The food!

The food!

In conclusion, please hold your events at EXPO next time if you do not want excessive crowds and overflowing of…FTs. 謝謝.
